Real Fitness with Sarah

Hi, my name is Sarah Buscemi and I am the founder of Real Fitness With Sarah. I help women and men look, feel and move better through fitness, nutrition and lifestyle. I work with people who want to make themselves feel better and are committed to their health. These people know that Real Fitness’ approach is all about lifestyle changes and not quick fixes, and these people want to make their lives better forever. They want to invest in their wellbeing and are committed to helping themselves.

Real Fitness is different from other fitness classes and gyms, we treat people as individuals, we get to know you, and can prescribe the right exercise and lifestyle support for the individual. Exercise alone will not help you reach your goals, eating better, dealing with stress, sleeping issues, menopause and other external factors, are very much part of our package.

Meet The Team

Sarah Buscemi

I have always had office type jobs, but loved group exercise classes and enjoying the outside, I have cycled and ran for a lot of my adult life. After a series of redundancies, I wanted to take control of my working life, and at the age of 40 I decided to train as a Group Fitness Instructor. Initially I was a franchisee in two different fitness groups, but in 2015 I took the decision to go independent – I haven’t looked back! I currently run up to 13 varied fitness classes each week, I have 2 instructors and an administrator who work with me, I have 300 people attend my classes each week, and have helped 1000’s of women and men get fitter, stronger, healthier and happier. I absolutely adore what I do, I am passionate about helping people reach their goals and live a healthy and happy life.

Hi, I’m Julia!

I’m the Real Fitness Administrator: I process your screening forms; upload classes, courses and memberships onto TeamUp and create advertising campaigns on our email platforms. I also edit and send the Real Fitness newsletter and Healthy Lifestyles article each week, plus I get to have lots of fun playing around with images/designs for Sarah’s class handouts!

I joined Real Fitness in April 2016, having previously worked as an Editor in the publishing industry for 15 years. I’m married with three children (who like to keep me on my toes!) and a couple of cats.

Hello, my name is Julie and I’m part of the Real Fitness team. I am married with two children, live in Kingswood and retired from teaching, after 33 years earlier this year. I began attending Sarah’s classes about 2 years ago and became an exercise to music teacher a year ago. I cover for Sarah when she is unable to take her classes, keeping you motivated and moving towards your goal.

Rachel Thilwind

Rachel has been practicing Pilates for the past 10 years, after being introduced to it while living in the Netherlands. What started as a way to help manage upper back pain soon became a passion in its own right (as well as a useful training regimen for her other hobby – surfing)! After returning to the UK in 2012, Rachel decided to train as a Pilates Instructor to help others benefit from it and she now possesses a VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Instructing Mat-Based Pilates, which is accredited by the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs). She has gone on to undertake a course in Pilates for common orthopaedic conditions, enabling her to teach Pilates to those with, e.g., osteoporosis or arthritis. 

When not teaching Pilates, Rachel is involved in the regulation of medical equipment within Europe.
